Advanced Treatment for Pain Relief & Tissue Recovery:
At Mornington Peninsula Health, we offer shockwave therapy, a non-invasive treatment designed to help manage persistent musculoskeletal pain, stimulate the body’s natural healing response and support tissue recovery.
Shockwave therapy is commonly used for chronic tendon conditions, soft tissue injuries and ongoing pain that has not responded adequately to other treatments.
Shockwave therapy, also known as Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), uses targeted acoustic waves delivered into affected tissues.
These acoustic waves stimulate biological responses within the tissue that may help promote healing, improve local circulation and reduce pain sensitivity.
It is a non-surgical treatment that can be incorporated into a broader rehabilitation and musculoskeletal management plan.
During treatment, a handheld device delivers controlled acoustic pulses to the affected area.

Shockwave therapy may be suitable for a range of musculoskeletal conditions, including:
Your practitioner will assess your presenting condition and determine whether shockwave therapy is appropriate for you.
A handheld device is applied to the affected area, delivering acoustic pulses into the targeted tissues. You may experience mild to moderate discomfort during treatment, depending on the sensitivity of the area.
Treatment is generally brief, and most patients can return to normal daily activities afterwards, although temporary soreness may occur and certain strenuous activities may need to be modified.
A series of sessions may be recommended depending on your condition and response to treatment.
We offer two appointment options:
