This is your place for “me time!"
This system is currently one of the highest quality professional strength saunas available. With six pre-programmed, clinically researched combinations of near, mid and far infrared available, or you can tailor your sessions to your individual needs.
Sessions can be solo, or your can bring a 2nd person.
You can choose a clinically-backed health program or customise all three infrared wavelengths to maximise health benefits as your needs change and evolve. It’s ideal for one or two people for today’s needs, and tomorrow’s.
Sunlighten’s highly efficient, patented SoloCarbon® infrared heating technology gives you the best detoxification experience because it is clinically proven to raise core body temperature by three degrees.
You experience a deep, productive sweat from your cells as the infrared waves penetrate your skin and heat your core to expel the toxins, rather than just sitting in hot, ambient air that only heats your outer skin. This creates an enjoyable experience of more productive sweat, rather than an uncomfortable, stifling hot and less-productive sweat.
Release toxins and reduce inflammation. Studies have shown that sauna therapy can release environmental toxins stored in fat tissues.
Heavy metals and fat-soluble chemicals like PCBs, PBBs and HCBs can trigger the body to protect itself, resulting in the immune system’s inflammatory response.
Inflammation typically causes pain signals in the body. Infrared sauna therapy heats the body at the cellular level, helping to detoxify the body and reduce inflammation.
Rejuvenate and purify your skin. Really! It sounds too good to be true, but science supports it. Photobiomodulation uses invisible, near infrared (NIR) wavelengths (700 to 1,200 nanometers (nm)) to deliver energy to cells. Research shows specific light frequencies have specific activity. NIR has the perfect wavelength (880 nm) to penetrate skin best. When NIR is applied to the skin, fibroblast cells absorb the light activity, stimulating production of collagen and elastin. Over time, those increases create thicker, younger looking skin, decrease lines, fade scars, and promote skin renewal, cell health and tissue growth.
Infrared sauna therapy promotes relaxation by helping to balance your body’s level of cortisol, your body’s primary stress hormone.
The heat generated by the sauna will also help to relax muscles and relieve tension throughout the body, allowing you to relax and de-stress. + You can always add your own meditation in this space, use sound therapy or our colour therapy as extra benefits.
Saunaing: the habit you’ll enjoy creating. The most current research shows behavior change techniques are now critical to weight management programs. Sunlighten saunas are beautiful, enjoyable experiences using infrared light to heat your body from the inside instead of heating the air. Infrared saunas can do more for the body’s health in a more pleasant environment, than the harsh suffocating heat of traditional saunas. The infrared light therapy does its work at the cellular level to expel toxins, increase circulation, spark metabolism, burn calories and help decrease waist size.
Infrared sauna sessions raise your heart rate and increase circulation. This replicates a cardiovascular workout we term “passive cardio.” In fact, blood flow during infrared sauna use may rise from a normal rate of 5 litres/minute to up to 12 litres/minute. Your heart is a muscle; working it makes it stronger. A stronger cardiovascular system helps capillaries deliver more oxygen to muscle cells. For people with injuries or conditions precluding them from cardio activity, our sauna can help serve as an alternative for needed cardio benefits.

During an Infrared sauna session, you can wear what makes you most comfortable. Some people wear a bathing suit, others wrap themselves in a towel or robe, or have light/ loose clothing. It is recommended to have a change of clothes you can freshen up in afterwards.
It is best to be hydrated. We also supply filtered and alkaline water for you to access during your infrared sauna session, or you are welcome to bring your own water bottle.
Your body will continue to be warm for a while afterward as it is still burning calories and trying to cool you down! Drink plenty of water.
Most people partake in a 30-45 minute session. The sessions allow you access to the room for 50 minutes, this allows you the time for your tailored sauna session + time for a brief shower and to get changed if you want.
Some people enjoy spacing out productive "me-time" 1 or 2 times a week. Others enjoy 3 -4 times a week, but it is technically safe to use every day and at whatever heat suits you best.
Steam rooms use a steam generator in an enclosed environment to circulate hot, humid air (around 43C, or 110F) to trigger a sweat response in the user. Temperatures inside, however, can seem higher to the user due to the humidity.
Infrared saunas take the opposite approach, using infrared light (we feel this invisible light as heat) that interacts with our skin and muscle tissue, with a dry heat that causes the body to sweat. Infrared saunas don’t require high temperatures to trigger a sweat response from the body, instead, the spectrum of infrared light affects up to 3cm (1.5-inches) through the body, and heats up your core body temperature extremely efficiently, avoiding heating the air around you. Rather than warming your body from the outside in like a steam room, an infrared sauna warms you from the inside out, making it by far the most efficient means of working up a sweat from an energy perspective.
Please consult with your physician, as this answer is usually yes, but may be no depending upon your specific circumstances. Obviously you are not allowed to bring your baby into the sauna session, but the sauna should not affect your milk supply, especially if you follow the hydration guidelines during and after a session.
Do not use a sauna if you have been drinking alcohol heavily prior to your session. Alcohol is dehydrating and sauna-ing whilst already dehydrated is dangerous. The same rules apply to reactional drugs.
Contraindicated conditions for sauna use include:
Please consult with your physician if you are unsure.
