Why Upgrade to the Candela GentleMax Pro ?

How does the Candela GentleMax Pro work?

The GentleMax Pro laser system targets the melanin held within the pigmented lesion, whilst ignoring the surrounding skin. This system is the gold standard in laser for pigmentation treatment.

After approximately 4-14 days after treatment, the lesion will scab. Once the scab naturally sloughs off (do not pick) fresh pink skin will be left underneath. 

How many treatments?

Some people may achieve full pigment removal after just 1 treatment, however, we typically allow 2-3 treatments for full removal.

Treatment will only be suitable for those who do not have a tan. Sun exposure should be avoided for approximately 8 weeks post treatment.

The Candela GentleMax Pro laser is passed over the nail approximately 1 cm above the nail. This causes the nail, nail bed and cuticle to heat up, effectively killing the nail fungus. This process will be done 3 times on each affected nail

How may treatments?

It is recommended that a course of 3-5 treatments at monthly intervals, be undertaken to effectively manage this condition.  However, this will depend upon the severity of the infection. 

Following a course of treatment at our Dromana clinic, it is recommended that a 6 month break be taken. This is to allow the new, uninfected nail to grow through.
