Most clients experience a significant and long-lasting reduction in hair growth following a course of laser hair removal treatments.
For many people, this can mean up to approximately 80-90% permanent hair reduction after a full treatment course, however individual results vary depending on factors such as hair colour, skin type, hormonal influences and the area being treated.
We commonly recommend a course of 8-12 sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart, to achieve optimal results. Your treatment plan will be tailored to you and adjusted as your hair growth responds over time.
Laser hair removal works by targeting active hair follicles, which is why multiple sessions are required to treat hair as it moves through its natural growth cycle.
During your Discover Laser consultation, we will discuss realistic outcomes, timelines and what you can expect based on your individual needs.

Laser can be a great option for many skin and hair types, however results vary depending on individual factors such as hair colour, skin tone and hormonal influences. That is why we always recommend a personalised approach.

No, not directly over a tattoo - it would damage the tattoo image.
We will appropriately protect your tattoo from Laser by covering it correctly and maintaining a safe parameter if you have a tattoo in the area being treated.
If it's due to a sun tan, we suggest treatments through winter when your skin lightens, olive skin can still benefit from treatments. Fitzpatrick Skin Types V and VI (dark to very dark skin tones) are not suitable candidates due to the excessive heat that is caused on the skin - for these 2 skin types we recommend the Candela YAG system (a few clinics in Melbourne offer this and will be safe options for your skin).
There needs to be pigment in the hair for the Laser to work effectively.
Blonde, white and grey hairs are unaffected by the treatment, due to no pigment. Red hairs are normally unaffected as well, but can have a reduction over a longer time period. Please book in for Free Discover Laser session with us if you are unsure.
Yes, however, you must wait 2 weeks after Botox and 4-6 weeks after injectable fillers if you are having Laser on your face.
There are some contraindications for laser, this includes pregnancy. Minimal studies for products and therapy testing is allowed during pregnancy if unrelated, so they simply cannot state it is a safe practice during this time. Our hormones change during these times and can also promote hair growth on our scalp and bodies, hense why even breastfeeding is recommended to wait until ceased and hormones have resettled.
Due to the hormones in puberty and the natural hair growth these hormones produce, it is recommended that for girls it is 2 years after they started menstruating before starting Laser. It is important to understand we need the teenager and the guardians approval for these treatments, as a permanent reduction in hair occurs with laser treatments.
There are some contraindications for Laser, these include pregnancy, certain blood thinners (Warfarin), cancer, antibiotics, and Roaccutane.
∗ Concerning the drug Roaccutane you must wait 6-12 months after stopping your medication (your GP will give you clearance) and 2 weeks for antibiotic use, for any area having laser treatment. For any medication or serious conditions you are unsure of, please get your doctor’s consent or let us know your concerns before your initial appointment.
Treatments are typcially performed every 6-8 weeks for the body and 4-6 weeks for the face. These appointment times may be shortened, or extended, as it varies per body part and individual (this will be explained to you during your course of treatments).
However, it is important to catch the hair in the anagen stage of growth as this is where the results happen, so as soon as you need to shave the area again this is typically the best time.
