Hi My name is Dianne Kerr I have lived on the Mornington Peninsula all of my life. I have travelled parts of Australia and Overseas and recently over the past 8 years I have run wellness Retreats. I am a mother of 2 gorgeous young men and I have had my times of stress uncertainly and disconnection. This is why I was drawn to natural therapies to heal myself and my nervous system.
I am a qualified EMK Kinesiologist with over a decade of experience teaching yoga—an ancient practice that continues to deeply inspire and inform the way I work today. My approach to kinesiology is gentle, intuitive, and heart-led, combining modern techniques with the timeless wisdom of the body systems.
Kinesiology means ‘the study of movement’. The term is also used by complementary medicine practitioners to describe a form of therapy that uses muscle monitoring (biofeedback) to look at what may be causing ‘imbalances’ in the body and attempts to relieve these imbalances.
Kinesiology, at its core, means “the study of movement” — but in the world of holistic and complementary medicine, it has taken on a much broader and more fascinating role.
The kinesiology approach examines ‘unresolved stress reactions’ in a person and provides techniques intended to help the body’s natural healing process.
Kinesiology is a powerful modality that helps uncover and release the root causes of emotional, physical, and energetic imbalances.
Whether you're navigating past trauma, emotional hurt, fatigue, chronic pain, anxiety, sleeplessness, or simply feeling out of alignment.
kinesiology offers a safe and supportive space to restore balance and return to your natural state of wellbeing.
Kinesiology has its roots in chiropractic care and a specific branch called Applied Kinesiology, which was developed by Dr. George Goodheart in the 1960s.
Dr. Goodheart combined traditional muscle testing with insights from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) — especially the concept of chi (energy flow) and the body’s meridian system, the same principles used in acupuncture.
Over time, kinesiology evolved beyond assessing muscle strength to include muscle monitoring as a form of biofeedback, which practitioners believe can reveal disruptions in the body’s energy systems.
Many people find Kinesiology a helpful addition to their overall health plan. It’s particularly popular for those who appreciate a holistic view of health that considers not just symptoms, but the emotional, nutritional, and energetic aspects of wellbeing.
As with any therapy, it’s important to seek qualified practitioners and to speak with your healthcare provider when exploring new treatment paths.
These sessions are also incredibly supportive for children, helping them regulate emotions, boost confidence, and move through developmental or behavioural challenges in a nurturing and empowering way. At the core of my work is a deep belief in your body’s ability to heal and find harmony. Together, we’ll gently peel back the layers, clear what no longer serves, and reconnect you to your true essence.
Kinesiologists have a wide toolbox of techniques they may draw on during a session. These can include:
The approach is gentle, non-invasive, and completely tailored to the individual’s needs — whether they’re working through physical tension or emotional overwhelm.
Kinesiology isn’t used to diagnose or treat disease in the medical sense. Instead, it’s a complementary therapy aimed at supporting the body as a whole. People often turn to kinesiology for help with:
Dianne assists by using muscle monitoring techniques to access information about a person’s wellbeing and to promote physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health.
